Product Condition Guide

Every product on fba.market comes with condition information in the manifest. Understanding the difference between overstock and customer returns, and the condition levels within each, is key to setting profitable bids.

Overstock vs. Customer Returns

Overstock

Products that FBA sellers want to liquidate because they are unsold excess inventory. These items have never been in a consumer's hands.

  • New, unopened, original packaging
  • Most predictable condition
  • Higher acquisition cost (higher bids)
  • Highest resale value

Customer Returns

Products returned by consumers via FBA. Conditions range from like-new (wrong size, changed mind) to defective. Manifests document each item's condition.

  • Variable condition per item
  • Lower acquisition cost (lower bids)
  • Higher margins on good condition items
  • Condition documented in manifest

What You Receive

Two product sources, each with clear documentation in the manifest.

Overstock

Overstock

Unsold products from FBA sellers. Always in new condition with original sealed packaging. Sellers liquidate these due to excess inventory, discontinued lines, or seasonal clearance.

What to expect:

  • New, factory-sealed condition
  • Original packaging intact
  • All accessories and manuals included
  • Highest resale value

Customer Returns

Returns

Products returned by consumers via FBA. Each item in the manifest includes the return reason. About 90% of items marked as "damaged" or "defective" are actually in mint condition because consumers select these reasons to get a full refund including delivery fees.

What to expect:

  • Return reason documented per item in the manifest
  • Most common reasons: changed mind, ordered wrong item, no longer needed
  • Items marked "defective" are overwhelmingly functional
  • Packaging may be opened or resealed

Understanding Your Manifest

Every shipment from fba.market includes a detailed manifest: a document listing every product in your pallet. Unlike competitors who ship raw, unsorted lots with minimal documentation, our manifests give you full visibility into what you're receiving.

What's in a manifest?

Product name
Category
Condition level
Average retail price
Your bid percentage
Your cost per unit

No guesswork, just data

Every item documented. Every condition reported. Your account manager can walk you through a sample manifest.
